Behave like a Christian
Romans 12:9-21
9 Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good.
10 Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another;
We should always be edifying to one another, honoring one another. So when someone is sharing something, we learn to honor the person giving respect to the person. Constantly pouring love onto one another and do not put each other down in our words or actions.
11 not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord;
Be diligence in everything you do; pack your own room; wash your own dish after food; study for your exams; don't copy homework; having the spirit of excellence; an eye for details; dun be lazy. Fervently build up your spirit man and not just giving lip serve when praying in tongues. Serving God in a ministry. Loving God wholeheartedly and loving people fervently.
Wah, just one verse it simply covers the whole area of being balance in our life lei. The importance of being diligent in our work, shining in the marketplace. but yet at the same time it is just as important for us to be serving the Lord through ministering to the Lord in prayer and through varies ministries. And between both is the importance to be balance by being fervently building yourself up in the realm of the Spirit, to be led by the Holy Spirit, whether is it in terms of ministry or in terms of marketplace.
12 rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer;
Faith is the substance of things hoped for evident of things not seen. In times of tribulations, there will most likely be a time of waiting before the answers come, and during these times of waiting, are we going to be bitter about the circumstances or can rejoice knowing that the Lord is in control; patiently waiting for the move of God, not passively but to persistently ask in prayer.
13 distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality.
Be a giver. He who gives to the poor lends to the Lord.
14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.
Bless those who curse you and pray for those who persecute you. You will be amazed how powerful this verse is, because when you make a decision to do it. The grace of God will be upon that relationship and the power of reconciliation will move mightily through wor.
15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.
Learn to share other people's joy and people's sorrows. When people success, rejoice with them and be truly happy for them, dun be sour. Your success got nothing to do with other's failure, neither does your failures got to do with other's success.
16 Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion.
Dun keep thinking that you are better than the rest and its time to change a group. Learn to stay with the humble and dun try to be wise in your OWN opinion. Everyone is righteous in their own eyes de.
17 Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men.
18 If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.
The possibility to live peaceably with ALL men is not dependent on who or what kind of person they are, because it is fully dependent on you.
19 Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,”[a] says the Lord.
20 Therefore
“ If your enemy is hungry, feed him;
If he is thirsty, give him a drink;
For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head.”[b]
21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
“ If your enemy is hungry, feed him;
If he is thirsty, give him a drink;
For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head.”[b]
21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
Even through times of persecution and false accusation, you will still choose to love, to go beyond the call of duty, to overcome evil with good.
