Self-Checklist
#1: Perfect Vessel VS Yielded VesselYesterday, met some people during that i have not met for quite awhile during leaders meeting. Somehow God just reminded me about His grace. Many times when people did something wrong in the past, made a wrong decision, it is hard for them to come back not because of what they have done against the Lord. But it often because the people around is unable to forgive or give them a 2nd chance.
God begin to show me so many of the people serving strong in the kingdom of God. How many of them have never made a mistake in their life? But yet, God is still able to use them to rise up strong churches, do great missionary work, bring down the presence of God, simply because God looks at our hearts. Our God is one who gives us a 2nd chance, a chance to always run back to Him despite of how far off we may be.
Reminding me of a few of the people who may not be very adequate in their leadership, EQ super low, not sensitive at all but yet because they love God whole heartedly, God is using them in a very mighty ways.
Moses, one who is always fearful and in fact ran away from the will of God for 40 years into the wilderness. But yet, the Lord used that time to prepare him for the destiny ahead. David committed adultery and even murdered. He did not just made a wrong decision, he sinned against the Lord and against his body. But yet, he is the man after God's own heart simply because he is quick to come back to the Lord and he loves the Lord wholeheartedly.
How many of us never had our share of failures, our share of wrong decisions? God is not going to look at who made a worse sin; big sins and small sins we all had our share of it. But God is going to look at our heart, our yielded-ness.
#2: 1/3 natural and 2/3 Spirit being
Pastor always say this, relating to a fish in the water, we should be more free in the things of the Spirit rather than the natural. Though personally i really cannot relate to this example because i cannot swim, but yet in terms of spiritually isn't it very true? and this ratio can apply on many things wor.
Scientifically, in terms of intelligence etc, 1/3 is genetic and 2/3 is nurtured. So stop blaming your parents for who you are today. Yes the 1/3 does play a important role and its often the bonus but yet if you have not done your 2/3, you cannot blame anyone.
I got friend who told me this during his final exams. Test takes up 30% but its the finals that matters. Don't look back at the 30% you cannot change, but focus on the 70% ahead. Many people are born gifted or due to up bringing, equipped with skills and talents of varies things that made up the 30%. But what is the 70%? Its the anointing that even money cannot buy. Some people made it through the passing mark because of the skills and talents but yet is not the anointing much much more important? Choosing between the 2, i rather have the anointing and go learn the skills, than to have all the skills in the world and lose the anointing.
I rather first have the heart, a heart after God's own heart and trust God to empower me with the brain, than to be too intellectual, having a brain that does not allow God in. As the saying goes, skills and talents may bring us to where we are, but its the character and the anointing that keeps us there.
Anointing only flows through relationship, our relationship with God. The time we take to be in His presence, fellow-shipping with Him, sharing heart-to-heart.
#3: Authority only comes after responsibility
Its only when you choose to take responsibility, authority will be added unto you. Many times people do not want to do the basic things, the little things, only want to do the great things. But if you cannot even take charge of little things, what makes you think that people will entrust the greater things to you lei.
It was only when Pastor Aries took responsibility to find out how Pastor Kong would do the sound and lighting checks, that he is now placed as a overseer to ensure the sound and lighting checks. People are where they are right now because some place in time they decided to take responsibility of something, it may be a small and insignificant thing at the moment, but do not despises the small beginning of every big thing. No one becomes a leader until he/she takes the responsibility to lead the people around them or placed under them. No helpers/connect group leader/PCGL will become a CGL until they assume the responsibility of a CGL. This applies in every area of our life, family; ministry; work etc. In what things and what areas are you taking responsibility of today?
