Proverbs 12

Proverbs 12 (Amplified Bible)

1) WHOEVER LOVES instruction and correction loves knowledge, but he who hates reproof is like a brute (cruel, unpleasant, insensitive, unreasoning) beast, stupid and indiscriminating (making no distinctions).

2) A good man obtains favor from the Lord, but a man of wicked devices (scheme or trick) He condemns.

3) A man shall not be established by wickedness, but the root of the [uncompromisingly] righteous shall never be moved.

4) A virtuous (showing high moral standards) and worthy wife [earnest and strong in character] is a crowning joy to her husband, but she who makes him ashamed is as rottenness in his bones.

5) The thoughts and purposes of the [consistently] righteous are honest and reliable, but the counsels and designs of the wicked are treacherous (guilty, involving betrayal or deception).

6) The words of the wicked lie in wait for blood, but the mouth of the upright shall deliver them and the innocent ones [thus endangered].

7) The wicked are overthrown (removed forcefully by power) and are not, but the house of the [uncompromisingly] righteous shall stand.

8) A man shall be commended according to his Wisdom [godly Wisdom, which is comprehensive insight into the ways and purposes of God], but he who is of a perverse (contrary to the accepted or expected standard or practice) heart shall be despised.

9) Better is he who is lightly esteemed but works for his own support than he who assumes honor for himself and lacks bread.

10) A [consistently] righteous man regards (connect with or concern about) the life of his beast (pet or animal), but even the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.

11) He who tills his land shall be satisfied with bread, but he who follows worthless pursuits is lacking in sense and is without understanding.

12) The wicked desire the booty (valuable stolen goods) of evil men, but the root of the [uncompromisingly] righteous yields [richer fruitage].

13) The wicked is [dangerously] snared (catch or trap) by the transgression of his lips, but the [uncompromisingly] righteous shall come out of trouble.

14) From the fruit of his words a man shall be satisfied with good, and the work of a man's hands shall come back to him [as a harvest].

15) The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but he who listens to counsel is wise.

16) A fool's wrath is quickly and openly known, but a prudent (showing care or thought for the future) man ignores an insult.

17) He who breathes out truth shows forth righteousness (uprightness and right standing with God), but a false witness utters deceit (the act or practice of deceiving someone by concealing or misrepresenting the truth).

18) There are those who speak rashly (proceeding from a lack of careful consideration of the possible consequences of his words), like the piercing of a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.

19) Truthful lips shall be established forever, but a lying tongue is [credited] but for a moment.

20) Deceit is in the hearts of those who devise evil, but for the counselors of peace there is joy.

21) No [actual] evil, misfortune, or calamity shall come upon the righteous, but the wicked shall be filled with evil, misfortune, and calamity.

22) Lying lips are extremely disgusting and hateful to the Lord, but they who deal faithfully are His delight.

23) A prudent man is reluctant to display his knowledge, but the heart of [self-confident] fools proclaims their folly.

24) The hand of the diligent will rule, but the slothful will be put to forced labor.

25) Anxiety in a man's heart weighs it down, but an encouraging word makes it glad.

26) The [consistently] righteous man is a guide to his neighbor, but the way of the wicked causes others to go astray.

27) The slothful man does not catch his game or roast it once he kills it, but the diligent man gets precious possessions.

28) Life is in the way of righteousness (moral and spiritual rectitude in every area and relation), and in its pathway there is no death but immortality (perpetual, eternal life).

Wisdom?

Wisdom?

In need of...
Wisdom on how to do well for your work or studies?
Wisdom on how to build good relationships?
Wisdom on how to be a good child, a good wife or husband?
Basically wisdom for anything?

Proverbs 1:7
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction.

What is this fear mentioned above?
It is not an unpleasant emotion or to be afraid of...
what then is this fear?
It is the reverence you give to the Lord over your life and the honor to the Lord that you will not do anything that will upset Him

One of the weapon that the devil often use is, to put in us a confidence of ourselves. A confidence that we are right; a confidence that we can do it with our own strength; a confidence that we will not sin. And because of this confidence in us, the devil often put us at the edge of the cliff.

But the fact is, why would you want to walk by the cliff when you can keep yourself away from it? EVEN IF you know that you will not slip off, why put it to test?

Don't be overly confident with yourself. Fear of the Lord is the BEGINNING of ALL WISDOM!

Differences vs. Similarities

Differences vs. Similarities

The creation of man was God's unique masterpiece where no one man in this world is similar in every way. But yet in the midst of His beautiful creation, there are also similarities of people in some way or another.

There's nothing wrong to be similar in some ways, neither is it wrong to be different in other ways. Because of this uniqueness in creation that consist of both similarities and differences at the same time, human behavior also varies with similarities and differences.

A certain group of people just like to be equal with others, they will try their outermost ability to keep up with the rest, desiring everything to be the same. Some people call them, the 'herd'.

While there are the others who just like to be different. They don't like to do what others are doing or the way others are doing things. They simply like it their own, uniquely. When they realized that people are 'copying' them, they often feels very uncomfortable and tend to make a change for something new. Some people call this group of people the 'eagles' who doesn't like to just flock together.

There's nothing wrong with either because anything taken to an extreme is error. The key is still to be balance.

Take for example,
some people like to buy clothes that are exactly the same and wear them together. Nothing wrong, perfectly alright. But there are those who don't really like to see someone wearing the same thing with them and there's nothing wrong with that too! Have you tried looking for a nice dress for a special dinner and finally found one that you fall head over heels with and during the dinner, you saw someone you know wearing the exact same dress.

I guess i am the kind that likes to be different, to a certain extend. Like i say, to a certain extend. So things that are more common or necessities i am not so particular of course, like what bible i buy, what toiletry brand i use, how i pray etc. But other than that, i don't buy what others already have and sometimes i don't like others to buy what i have.  I guess most creative people will like to be different. *So stop trying to be like me*

I truly believe that there's nothing wrong to be unique because i serve a VERY UNIQUE and CREATIVE God! =D

Betrayal with a Kiss!

Betrayal with a Kiss!

Have you ever felt like, not all who are with you are for you?

Don't worry because you ain't alone in this!
Even Jesus had Judas Iscariot... One of the 12 CLOSEST to Him, who even betrayed Him with a kiss.

If you wonder why?
Read Matthew 13:24-30 "The Parable of the Wheat and the Tares"

24 Another parable He put forth to them, saying: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field;
25 but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way.
26 But when the grain had sprouted and produced a crop, then the tares also appeared.
27 So the servants of the owner came and said to him, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?’
28 He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ The servants said to him, ‘Do you want us then to go and gather them up?’
29 But he said, ‘No, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them.
30 Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.”’”

The fact is, God knows that the devil has planted tares in the field but yet He allowed them to grow TOGETHER.

Because, in the process of growing, most of the time, the roots of the wheat and tares will grow and tangles together, forming relationships and friendships with one another. As such, if we are to remove those who are 'against' us, some of those who are for us will also be removed at the same time because of the relationships or friendship they have with them in the midst of growing together. So in order to ensure that no wheat will be removed in the midst of removing the tares, God allowed them to grow together, until the Day of the Harvesting.

A kiss being a symbolism of love and reverence was also the weapon that the devil made use of to put Jesus on His trail and brought Him to the cross. But be of good cheer, for it all happened for a purpose and God is in control! =D

Is it just about you? (Part 2)

Is it just about YOU? (Part 2)

Respect is only given when honor is given to whom honor is due.

Did not the bible talks about the honoring of the weaker vessel?
So what if you are the boss of a certain company? If you do not give honor to the employees that are older, who are physically a weaker vessel, no one will give you the respect that is due to you too...

Met an unpleasant rich guy last week... rich, driving a relatively very good car but so what. He drove into other people's things because of his poor driving skills and stare at people as though its their fault and did not even apologise... people really don't care how rich you are or how famous you are if you don't learn to honor others.

If you expect others to respect you, you first got to honor others. Respect is earned not demand...

i used to have a principal who seems to be a very nice person till we saw the other side of her, where she started to scold the students like they are rubbish, just because of $10 school building fund. Over $10! She lost control of herself and even kicked one of my classmate. From then on, all the respect she had ever earned was lost in just one incident.

Many great leaders are great not for the things they achieve all their lives, but the respect they earned from the people because of the honor they have for others.

Don't judge others according to your standard. Render the honor to those who do not have the same gifts as you do. There will also be areas that they are better than you. We are all given gifts and talents by God, according to different measures at different point of our lives. Hence, do not boast about them like they come from you, lest they are taken away from you.
