My Bedtime Story =)

Valentine Roses
A touching story.......

Red roses were her favorites, her name was also Rose.
And every year her husband sent them, tied with pretty bows.
The year he died, the roses were delivered to her door.
The card said, "Be my Valentine," like all the years before.

Each year he sent her roses, and the note would always say,
"I love you even more this year, than last year on this day."
"My love for you will always grow, with every passing year."
She knew this was the last time that the roses would appear.

She thought, he ordered roses in advance before this day.
Her loving husband did not know, that he would pass away.
He always liked to do things early, way before the time.
Then, if he got too busy, everything would work out fine.

She trimmed the stems, and placed them in a very special vase.
Then, sat the vase beside the portrait of his smiling face.
She would sit for hours, in her husband's favorite chair.
While staring at his picture, and the roses sitting there.

A year went by, and it was hard to live without her mate.
With loneliness and solitude, that had become her fate.
Then, the very hour, as on Valentines before,
The doorbell rang, and there were roses, sitting by her door

She brought the roses in, and then just looked at them in shock.
Then, went to get the telephone, to call the florist shop.
The owner answered, and she asked him, if he would explain,
Why would someone do this to her, causing her such pain?

"I know your husband passed away, more than a year ago,"
The owner said, "I knew you'd call, and you would want to know."
"The flowers you received today, were paid for in advance."
"Your husband always planned ahead, he left nothing to chance."

"There is a standing order, that I have on file down here,
And he has paid, well in advance, you'll get them every year.
There also is another thing, that I think you should know,
He wrote a special little card...he did this years ago."

"Then, should ever, I find out that he's no longer here,
That's the card...that should be sent, to you the following year."
She thanked him and hung up the phone, her tears now flowing hard.
Her fingers shaking, as she slowly reached to get the card.

Inside the card, she saw that he had written her a note.
Then, as she stared in total silence, this is what he wrote...
"Hello my love, I know it's been a year since I've been gone,
I hope it hasn't been too hard for you to overcome."

"I know it must be lonely, and the pain is very real.
For if it was the other way, I know how I would feel.
The love we shared made everything so beautiful in life.
I loved you more than words can say, you were the perfect wife."

"You were my friend and lover, you fulfilled my every need.
I know it's only been a year, but please try not to grieve.
I want you to be happy, even when you shed your tears.
That is why the roses will be sent to you for years."

"When you get these roses, think of all the happiness,
That we had together, and how both of us were blessed.
I have always loved you and I know I always will.
But, my love, you must go on, you have some living still."

"Please...try to find happiness, while living out your days.
I know it is not easy, but I hope you find some ways.
The roses will come every year, and they will only stop,
When your door's not answered, when the florist stops to knock."

"He will come five times that day, in case you have gone out.
But after his last visit, he will know without a doubt,
To take the roses to the place, where I've instructed him,
And place the roses where we are, together once again."

MAC-Donalds Again~

Another night of studying at MAC!
One thing that is proved during this period of studying
Macdonalds is super super fattening with alot of saturated fats!

SHOES again?

SHOES Again?

Recently Charles & Keith have been coming out with a lot of shoes that meets my "Shoes Standard Criteria". Went to one of the outlets at Bugis and saw at least 6 shoes that caught my attention!

Let's go through a few pointers of these standards that i have:

1) There must be a certain thickness at the toe area so that there is no direct impact on the ground. This will help when it comes to walking long distances or standing for hours because the thickness in front helps to lower the direct impact of your feet to the ground.

2) It must be a open-toe concept because of my toes structure, hence will be more comfortable.

3) It will be best if the heel of my leg is not covered so that there will not be blasters, but to a certain extend if the shoes meets the first 2 standards, i will still consider it even it the back is covered. Case by case basis.

The one thing about shoes is of course not just about the outlook of it, but also most importantly, is the COMFORT! That is the reason why i always prefer to get my own shoes, so that i can try and ensure it fits me!

*If you really feel led to bless me with a pair of shoes, Charles & Keith vouchers will be the MOST welcomed gift. =D

The Benefits of Eating Fish Oil

Saw an article on www.bellaonline.com
talking about the benefits of Omega 3 for women, but at the same time it applies to guys also la. Just that this is women's site, hence the focus on women. Below is the article. =)

11 Omega 3 Benefits for Women

Are there omega 3 benefits exclusive to women? You can bet your life on it! And these omega 3 oil benefits can make your life dramatically better. You'll feel happier and be so much healthier.

That is, if you're getting the omega 3 benefits from pure high quality omega 3 fish oil.

Why is pure fish oil so different from other omega 3 sources? Quality omega 3 fish oil is the richest and best source of EPA, DHA and DPA – the three omega 3 fatty acids proven in scientific research study after study to produce the following amazing omega 3 benefits.

Omega 3 Fish Oil Benefits

1. Breast cancer protection: Research shows women with a high intake of fish oil fatty acids have up to 50% less chance of getting breast cancer, which is a major concern for most women. DHA is a natural anti-inflammatory that stops cellular transformation and kills off cancer cells.

2. Relief from menstrual cramps: Unpleasant PMS symptoms are often the result of a fatty acid imbalance. Omega 3 fish oil relieves monthly pain and cramping known as dysmenorrhea.

3. Improved fertility: Studies show that infertility is directly related to the amount of fish oil you consume. Fish oil balances hormones, improves hormonal levels and increases blood flow to the uterus. The more Omega 3 fatty acids you get the greater your odds of conceiving.

4. Healthy babies: Fish oil is essential to a healthy pregnancy diet, facilitating healthy placental blood flow and the efficient exchange of nutrients and oxygen between mother and baby.

5. Preeclampsia prevention: The high blood pressure during pregnancy, which is known as preeclampsia, can be very dangerous. The omega 3 fish oil fatty acids help maintain healthy blood pressure and greatly reduce any health risks for both mother and child.

6. Full term babies: Fish oil fatty acids also lower the danger of premature birth. This insures during pregnancy stages a baby has fully formed lungs and reaches a healthy birth weight.

7. Baby's brain development: A child's brain is especially dependent on the fatty acids found in omega 3 fish oil. For example, DHA has been found to ensure proper brain development and to increase a child's intelligence. It also improves eyesight and the development of motor skills.

8. Less postpartum depression: Studies show women with a higher consumption of fish oil suffer significantly less postpartum depression. This means better times for both mom and baby.

9. Minimized menopause problems: By greatly improving hormonal balance, fish oil fatty acids can dramatically reduce menopause symptoms, such as hot flashes and mood swings.

10. Protection against osteoporosis: Having high levels of fish oil fatty acids has been shown to lower your risk of osteoporosis, which is an especially high risk for women after menopause.

11. Reduced risk of heart disease: Heart disease kills more women prematurely than any other disease, including breast cancer. And the danger increases after menopause. Omega 3 with EPA and DPA is your best defense. Fish oil helps lower triglycerides, lower blood pressure and lower cholesterol naturally. And it's an essential part of an all around heart healthy diet.

As you can see, from the time a woman's born until she becomes a wise elder in her family and community, there are numerous amazing omega 3 fish oil benefits. Scientific research can show you how it works, but then it's up to you to start taking fish oil supplements on a regular basis.

Have you taken your breakfast?

Have you taken your breakfast?

i did a simple research today about breakfast and many studies shows that breakfast is the MOST important meal of the day.

Studies show that both children and adults who eat breakfast do and feel better and perform better in school as well as at work. Whether you work at home, on the farm, at the office, at school, or on the road, it is not a good idea to skip breakfast. Eating a good breakfast sets the tone for the rest of the day.

When you skip breakfast, you are likely to become tired when your brain and body run low on fuel. By mid-morning, you might grab a cup of coffee or wolf down a sugary candy bar to wake up again. This might work for a few minutes, but by lunch time you are hungry, crabby, and perhaps your mood might make you a little more prone to make unhealthy choices at lunch.

Skipping breakfast is a common strategy for losing weight, but not a smart one. Many people believe that they will lose weight if they skip meals, but that just isn't true; the body expects to be refueled a few times each day -- starting with breakfast.

Actually, eating breakfast is good for weight loss. In fact, people who eat breakfast are more likely to maintain a healthy weight.

What makes a Healthy Breakfast?

A healthy breakfast should contain some protein and some fiber. Protein can come from low fat meats, eggs, beans or dairy. Fiber can be found in whole grains, vegetables and fruits. A good example of a healthy breakfast might be something simple like a hard boiled egg, an orange, and a bowl of whole grain cereal with low fat milk.

Stay away from the sugary cereals, syrups, pastries, and white breads because they are digested quickly and will leave you hungry and tired in a couple of hours. Protein and fiber satisfy your hunger and will keep you feeling full until lunch time.

If you really don't like to eat breakfast, you can split it up into two smaller meals. Eat a hard boiled egg at home, and an hour or two later, take a break from work and snack on an apple and a handful of healthy nuts like pecans or walnuts.

Remember that eating a healthy breakfast is the best way to start off your day, and be good to yourself by eating a healthy breakfast. Notice how much better you feel through the morning and the rest of the day when you don't skip breakfast.

Fiber Intake

The list of high fiber foods below is vitally important to you. Why?

A fiber deficiency increases your risk of constipation, hemorrhoids, high cholesterol, high blood sugar, obesity, colon cancer and heart disease. In other words, high fiber foods are essential if you want to look and feel your best.

And if that's not enough, eating more foods from this list of high fiber foods will give you the strength and inclination to get up and "go" – on a "regular" basis!

Most Americans get only about 10 grams of fiber daily. That's not nearly enough. You need an intake of 30 to 40 grams of fiber a day for optimum health.

So, book mark and link to this page. It will remind you what you need to eat in order to maintain normal cholesterol and blood sugar levels, plus a healthy body weight.
