Viewing Ministry and Work in the right perspective
Which one do you think is more important?
Work of ministry or the Ministry of work?
Many people will chose ministry over work
Thinking that ministry is more spiritual whilst work is secular
Hence giving a slip-short attitude when it comes to their work
going through their monday to friday with an attitude of trying to scrap pass
praying that its over quickly
so that they can enjoy their weekend doing the work of ministry
spending most of their time serving in the ministry, yet praying that God will open a way for promotion and favor in their marketplace
and wonders why it never happens even when they chose to put ministry first
Very often work and studies became a 'duty' here on earth
that we will have to go through
some people think that it is because we are living in a broken down world hence the need to work and study
but its all wrong!
working and studying, excelling in our marketplace is the will of God
As much as work of ministry is important, the ministry of work is just as important
at the same time where God created Adam to fellowship and minister to Him
He placed him in the Garden of Eden
and God did not just expects him to watch over it as he spends all the time to fellowship with God
instead God expects him to TEND the land
though not all of us are called to the 5 fold ministry of an evangelist
we are all called to fulfill the great commission
if we are not excelling in our marketplace, just busy doing ministry
even though our church people will view us as on-fire believers
the people of the world will just consider us as someone sluggish and scrapping through our work
then how can we win the world to Christ if Christ-likeness are not even shown at our marketplace
A hardworking, excelling staff might never want to come to church
if she sees that you are always so busy with church things that you are always slip-short in your work, not handing your projects on time, producing a low standard of work
The message of cultural mandate is the call for us to be relevant to the world
not to be of the world
but to be able to be the salt and the light in the world
excelling in our work with integrity
glorifying God with our conduct
bringing Christ-likeness into our marketplace
providing a new standard of living for the less fortunate
4th Month~!
Since the day before
i went to market with my mum and my maid in the early morning
spent almost $200 just to prepare for this day
started off the day, waking up by the kiss of my prince
i made the breakfast while he started his revision
thereafter followed by an sumptuous meal of steamed Cod fish and stir-fried golden mushrooms with minced pork, served with rice
took a nap after the tiring morning
and started with the preparation of dinner
up next was the wholesome meal of Potato, tomato, carrot and onion soup, together with steamed chicken wings and scramble eggs with fresh prawns, served with rice
after a hard day's work, i concluded:
it is really not easy to be a housewife
where to find time to be working or doing other hobbies and recreational activities?
hence, the best is to have a domestic worker to help with all these domestic aspects of a family, freeing up the mother to be doing more important things during the free time like:
- loving the husband and children
- nurturing the children into a bright future
- doing recreational activities together as a family
- play with and walk the dog
- decorate the house
- do a bit of freelance
- take up some hobbies
- do some gym exercises or swim
- helps the husband by doing networking
looks like the list never ends
heheheh...
